Overview
This article explains the required specification for Virtual Servers (Hosts) according with current hypervisor technology. See the VMWare How To Guide for further information.
Server Specifications
The minimum requirements for a Virtual Machine Host server, this applies to Swivel 2.0.x, 2.x, 3.x or v4.x appliances.
Typical Swivel Appliance Specification would be:
- 2GB RAM
- 1 Dual/Quad core CPU
- 80GB HDD
- VMware ESX/ESXi 4 or above
- Hyper-V 2008 R2, 2012 R2 or above
- Citrix Xen Server 6.2 (Swivel Appliance v2.1, v3, or above)
- 1 X nic (single) or 2 X nic (HA)
Thin Mode Deployment
VMware allows Swivel servers to deploy with a minimal 10Gb config and then expand. This is useful for testing and small deployments.
