Installing an RPM on the appliance
Installation Notes

Introduction

The instructions contained in this document have been tested on a V2.x appliance. If you find that they are not applicable to your appliance, please contact Swivel Secure support (support@swivelsecure.com) for assistance.

It is assumed that the appliance is already configured, and has a valid IP address on your network.

Note that installing an RPM not issued by Swivel Secure may break or render the PINsafe installation unstable.

Installing the RPM on the appliance

1. Copy the Swivel Secure issued RPM to the appliance, using SFTP (Using SSH and SFTP)
2. Login to the appliance using the console or an SSH client
3. From the 'Advanced Menu' select 'Command Line' and enter in the password.
4. Type the following commands:

cd /backups/upload
rpm -iv {filename}.rpm
exit

Testing

Check that the updated software deliverd by the rpm has been installed. If any error messages are reported after the rpm command please contact Swivel Secure support (support@swivelsecure.com) for assistance.
