Overview

A bug was discovered in early versions of Single Appliance build 2.0.14. This bug affected the ability to change the hostname of the appliance via the Console Management Interface (CMI). The cause for this has been identified as being a missing file which the CMI is dependent upon in order to successfully make the change to the hostname.

Solution

  • Download the missing file (mon.cf - available to download soon)

https://fs.swivelsecure.com/appliance/downloads/2.0.14/mon.cf

  • Using WinSCP, upload the missing file (mon.cf) to:
 /etc/mon/mon.cf

(see WinSCP How To Guide)

  • Edit the file (right-click Edit within WinSCP) and on the following line:
 hostgroup Primary_IP 192.168.0.35

..change 192.168.0.35 to be the IP address of the Single Appliance.

  • Save changes
  • Attempt to change the hostname via the CMI
